Infantry Apprentice Information

Useful Information

If you have taken GCSE's or higher at school, college or University and you have not yet provided them for evidence towards your Functional Skills you are to do this at the earliest opportunity so that they can be sent away as evidence for RPL exemption. This must be your original certificate; No Copies and they are to be submitted to your ACO.

If you conducted schooling in any other country, such as: Fuji, Caribbean, African Nations or anywhere else around the world and you have grades in your English and/or Maths these too can be submitted for RPL exemption but, again it must be your original certificate that you provide as evidence, and it is required that you submit them at the earliest opportunity.

Ofsted

Because you are classed as being in further education/adult education The Apprenticeship scheme is still open to Ofsted inspections. They will notify the Commanding Officer of their pending inspection and could call upon you (as a learner) to interview you and ask you several questions regarding your Apprenticeship. Your line Manager could also be asked to conduct an interview with them, so it is important that you keep them briefed about your Apprenticeship. Questions like:

  1. What Apprenticeship are you on/conducting?

  2. How long are you on it for?

  3. What have you achieved towards your Apprenticeship?

  4. What do you have left to achieve for your Apprenticeship?

  5. Who is your ACO?

  6. Have you completed any Functional Skills?

  7. If yes, what are they and at what level?

  8. Have you been informed of when you will conduct your Gateway?

  9. Do you know what is required for you to complete for your End Point Assessment?
(Weapon Handling Test and Formal Interview).
