About the Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship
A Data Technician weeds through your data to help you make better, more informed decisions within the business. They’re often the unsung heroes in an organisation, quietly playing detective as they uncover data on your business (and market) that can lead to a significant ROI. On top of that, they’re on hand to eliminate costly data errors that could lead to legal fees, remediation costs and loss of productivity.

Individual employers set the selection criteria, but in general this will be:
5 GCSEs at Grade C or higher.

Data Technicians are there to help businesses make smarter, more efficient decisions. They uncover and analyse data, picking it apart and drawing up a plan for the business to action the data in a way that breeds results. On top of that, they help to prevent expensive data errors that can lead to long (and costly) legal battles and remediation costs.
Typical job roles include:
Data Technician.
Data Support Analyst.
Junior Data Analyst.
Junior Information Analyst.

The day-to-day will involve working under a senior colleague, who will take the apprentice under their wing and train them in every area of the role, including but not limited to:
Sourcing, formatting and presenting data securely.
Communicating outcomes appropriate to the audience.
Analysing structured and unstructured data to support business outcomes.
Blending data from multiple sources as directed.
Applying legal and ethical principles when manipulating data.
In their daily work, Data Technicians interact with a wide range of stakeholders including colleagues, managers, customers, and internal/external suppliers. They typically work as a member of a team, either office-based or virtual.
