Unit 1 Understanding the principles and practices of External Quality Assurance

• Understand the context and principles of external quality assurance

• Understand how to plan the external quality assurance of assessment

• Understand how to externally evaluate the quality of assessment and internal quality assurance

• Understand how to externally maintain and improve the quality of assessment

• Understand how to manage information relevant to external quality assurance

• Understand the legal and good practice requirements relating to external quality assurance

3 - 6 Months - Virtual via Teams or classroom delivered.

You must complete a short portfolio of evidence that covers all assessment criteria, including a series of activities and questions which are submitted for assessment. You will receive feedback on your work and the opportunity to resubmit if further evidence is required.

Requirements

Learners must hold one of the following qualifications prior to enrolling:

• Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

• Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

• Level 4 Award in Conducting Internal Quality Assurance of the Assessment Process V1

• Internally Verify the Assessment Process D34

On successful completion of this qualification, learners may wish to continue their development by seeking employment as an External Quality Assurer and completing the two units to gain the full qualification.
